JULIE MILLER

Julie Miller is a comedy writer/director/showrunner and the brainchild behind RIOT, Refinery29’s popular female-driven comedy arm.

Miller created RIOT in 2016 to identify, support and amplify diverse female writers, directors and performers. Since then she has produced 3 television pilots, 14 digital series, launched a writing lab in partnership with TBS, and was lauded by Decider as making “some of the Internet’s most well-done web content”. 

Most recently, Miller created and ran a talk show called After After Partyhosted by Sonia Denis (Brown Girls) which received a straight-to-series 30-episode order from Facebook Watch. 

Miller began her career as an intern at Saturday Night Liveand has gone on to write and produce for Comedy Central, MTV, Spike TV, OWN, SeeSo, TBS, NPR, Facebook and Refinery29.

Her production company is called Delicate Plumbing because why not?
